Jiri "Frickin" Hudler
I think it was about time to give some recognition to the top and most consistent offensive player on the team this year so far. At this point, Jiri has clearly been too good for just "like" status, so he has been upgraded to "frickin".
He is currently tied with Alex Ovechkin, Corey Perry and Phil Kessel for 7th in league scoring with 19 points in 17 games with an even rating, and is ahead of all of his old teammates in Detroit. I'm really happy for the guy and his success he's found here so far, it must feel great for him on an individual level as well. Hope he can keep this up.
One thing for sure is that when this offense looked to be slumping, Hudler would be the straw to stir the drink and get things going, and was instrumental in the hot start for the kids Sven and Monahan. This looks to be shaping up to be a career season for him.
