There is way too much time and results to see before I make any guesses at a roster

Gaudreau has another year of college.
Also, that team would compete for Connor McDavid - which is nothing to brag about.

No he doesn't.. Several sources including Gaudreau himself say he's turning pro after this year.
That team is slightly better than this years team. This years team is playing .500 hockey so it'll be hard to compete for McDavid at that pace.
Nice post though.

Already excited about next season, as Gaudreau, Poirier (a December birthday, so he'll be AHL eligible) and Agostino will all turn pro ... who knows, maybe also Gillies? After all the "meh" years in terms of prospects, having really skilled guys turn pro every season is great.

He is eligible to play one more year of college. Will he? won't he? that remains to be seen. For me he's still going back until signs a contract.
As for the team up there, how does a Reinhart overtake a guy who's a regular in the lineup this year in Bouma?
I seriously hope they send Gaudreau to the AHL for a year.
I really hope they don't have all of Jones, Stempniak, Hudler, Glencross here next year blocking next line of rookies. I like them but not all need to stay.
Only guaranteed guys for next years team are Monahan, Glencross, Hudler, Giordano, Brodie, Wideman. Rest big unknowns.

Rosters are crazy-hard to predict a whole year away, but I think it's pretty safe to say that we will not simply be moving out a few pieces for draft picks and calling guys up to fill the void. Expect us to take a roster player or two back in a trade at some point, or certainly to explore free agency (which I know the rebuild purists out there would just hate, but you never just dump vets for picks and expect rookies to replace them, as Downey Jr. Said, never go full rebuild).
I don't believe we get rid of Cammy and just sit on our hands without anyone near comparable. That roster as it stands right now looks pretty scary-weak.
But hey: for the sake of humour
Baertschi-Monahan-Hudler

There will be more roster turnover than what the OP projects. The flames will have cap space and assets (if they make the right moves at the deadline) I just don't see them not tinkering with their lineup more.

I disagree. I am assuming the flames will continue with the player development route, and not go big game hunting for UFAs. At least, I hope that is what they do. I think, after a year of the young players getting experience in the NHL, that they will be comfortable letting some veterans go in promoting players in the system. So long as they don't wet the bed this season I mean.

Unless X is Weber, that team would not reach the floor.

Well maybe we resign Cammalleri instead of Stempniak to help meet the cap floor....?

I think if we get Ekblad, that's going to mean that Stempniak and probably Glencross will be traded at some point soon.
