Revolution (Now with spoilers!)
Did anyone watch this new show the other day.
I had high hopes for this show, and am willing to give it some time, but the first show was not the best.
For me the show looks too clean. After 15 years of living hard, you would expect people to be a bit dirty, ie: Walking Dead.
It ended with a very "Lost" type of scene, a mystery computer.....
Anyone else watch?

It was ok, I'll stick with for at least a couple more shows.

While the plot so far is a little thin and they've really got to explain why not even batteries work, I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic type environments/scenarios so I'll give it a few episodes.
Plus "Charlie" is pretty damn hot... and I just googled her age to make sure it's ok for me to say that.

I was also interested in the movie "Looper"

The acting (specifically the female leads) was atrocious. Also the guy flew like 20 feet after being hit with an arrow... what is this 1970?

Performances were pretty bad, particularly from the main girl. And everyone is wearing nice clean clothes. I'll give it a couple more episodes cause I like the concept and the action scenes actually weren't too bad. We'll see.

I agree that the first episode was weak, but I really like the concept so I'll give it another couple of episodes before I bail on it.

At least it isn't another cop, hospital or lawyer show.

Meh. I don't really see the clean clothes thing as much of an issue. If 99% of the population died, there'd be wareshouses and warehouses filled with unsold clothes and laundry detergent. If your clothes wore out, you could just grab some new ones.
The pilot was a little slow, but I'll give it another chance.

And with no tv, movies or internet they'd have plenty of time to do chores like washing their clothes.

Had an idea!

The clean clothes isn't that big of a deal. The human race can easily adapt.
What I find strange is that after 15 years they still haven't come up with something 'better.'

What I really didn't get was the use of swords (there is no shortage of guns and military weapons in the states). It's not like electricity problems would affect guns, or even simple non-electric (older) combustion engines in general.

Actually I think they did say combustion engines did stop working (though I only watched the first 12 minutes so far).
So far the working explanation is that "physics went crazy and no one knows why".
Personally, I'd be OK with them making no further attempt to explain it, and just leaving it as the main conceit of the show, or coming up with a really solid explanation. The only really bad option is an attempted explanation that makes no sense or is easily seen through.

She is Canadian. Is apparently a totally cool girl. Know a guy that dated her for a while.

They mentioned something about it being an offence to possess a gun. The militias are consolidating power by controlling the gun supply. Although there are a lot weapons in the states, without the ability to produce new bullets, you would run out of bullets eventually. Would that happen in 20 years? Who knows, although the show did hint at some period of total chaos/war.

Looks like bullets just got more expensive. Main bad guy had a nice gun, other bad guys had muzzle loaders, as bullets would be much cheaper for that. Seems plausible.
15 years is a lot of time for Americans to go through that ammo at the rate they would shoot.

So did the guards at the tent of the general, no doubt, weapons are a status symbol.
