Guys, don't be like leafs fans...
Hey, so maybe I can spell things right this time.
--
If you spend time on the Las Vegas strip, where I work you will see a pattern.
Over and over again during hockey season.
Oilers, Canucks, leafs, penguins, Blackhawks and recently jets.
This isn't tomsay I never see the flames represented, but just not as often. Fwiw I do not see the red wings that often either. Go figure.
Anyhow, last week I saw a guy wearing a maple leafs Wendel Clark shirt.
I watched that team as a kid so said something like
"Hey, I'm from Calgary but grew up in Niagara Falls, are you from Toronto?"
"Yeah" he answered
"great start for the leafs this year, must be exciting!" I complimented.
"Yeah but we'll screw it up. We always do. Doesn't matter..." Was his reply.
Anyhow. Seeing stuff like in the post game thread after the game today about Curtis Glencross sucks.
It makes me wonder, when did fans get so jaded after you beat a team coming off 2 wins in a row like the caps, who aren't a bad team to start.
It the Maple Leafs fan syndrome.
Don't play into it guys.

To counter this i know a few Leaf fans who think they already have the cup final locked up.
All is good.

There are a large amount of transplants here that enjoy the nhl. Plus, the tourists always represent where they're from.
You'd laugh at how much green and white you see during football season.

My nephew recently switched his loyalties to the Leafs (after the Phaneuf trade). I remember when I was in elementary school & a load of kids switched allegiances after the Gilmour trade.
Judasses*.

So...some Leaf fans are extremely pessimistic about their team, while others are extremely optimistic.
Got it.

Right, but the point is that they're all Leafs fans, which is what we're trying to avoid.
So don't be like them.
