Default October 27 - Radko Gudas got a game misconduct for slashing nobody

Bizarre situation in Tampa, where after getting dumped in front of Florida's bench, leading Scottie Upshall to squirt him with a water bottle, Radko Gudas slashed the boards in front of the Panthers' bench. His stick broke, but the one replay I saw didn't make it look like the stick created a dangerous situation. He still got 2-10-game. Upshall got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Gudas also scored a goal, and the Lightning lead 3-1 in the third.

I was about to note that the Senators are also looking decent against San Jose, but they just gave up a fourth goal. 4-2, and the Sharks continue to pull away from everyone.

Jackets and Ducks tied at 1.

Winnipeg is preparing to get their asses handed to them by Colorado in an hour, and the night wraps up with a battle of two non-playoff teams: Edmontons third-string goalie @ LA.

Being that the game is in Colorado, the altitude is going to run wild all over Winnipeg's game. They don't have a chance.

Gudas must be quite the guy on the ice... He's fought Iginla twice already this year and seems to be in the middle of everything.

Florida did the Oilers a solid by coming back to steal a point from Tampa (but lost in the circus). They move to 8 points, leaving Edmonton in sole possession of the 4th overall draft pick. With the Flyers and Rangers starting to look a little better, they could quickly find themselves at 2nd overall if they don't blow it and win tonight.

The Sharks get another road win as they defeated the Senators 5-2. The rookie back up goalie, Alex Stalock, faced 40 shots. That was the only game on national television today (TVA Sports in french).

The Lightning squandered a 3-1 third period lead but won 4-3 in the shootout. http://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/hockey/nhl/game/1346168/recap/

The Ducks defeat the BJs 4-3 in regulation, Cory Perry scored the winning goal with 2:25 left in the third period. Selanne gets an assist in this game. http://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/hockey/nhl/game/1346168/recap/

After one period, it is 1-1 between the Jets and Avalanche. Al Montoya is in net for the Jets.

The final game on the schedule is about to begin.

RNH just went down in Edmotnon after trying to avoid a hit but hitting his knee. Not sure how serious

Third-stinger Richard Bachman in net for the Oilers. Either they're really desperate already, or they're tanking early in the season. Hard to tell with the Oil.

Dubnyk is hurt and Labarbara simply isn't very good. Nothing for them to lose.

LA taking some dumb penalties right now. Brad Doty takes a hooking call, but Eberle flopped pretty easily on it. One of those cases where both should have gone, imo.

Boy, Yakupov is really off his game. That goal celebration won't get any air time on Sportscentre.

Jets choke it in the third against the Avs. Turned a 2-1 lead into a 3-2 defeat pretty quickly.

Yakupov scores his first of the season... doesn't do a knee slide, but asks for the puck after the goal.
