Default Do the Flames need to seriously consider Bryzgalov?

MacDonald 2.99GAA .891SV%

MacDonald ha kept the Flames in games, but hasn't stolen any forthem. Thankfully the Flames offense has kept them alive.

Ramo 4.37GAA .878SV%

That's brutal. Looking like the Ramo the Lightning saw way back when. Not sure why this guy can't translate his game to the NhL.

Bryzgalov is still looking for an NHL gig. Should the Flames consider him on a short-term (one year) deal?

Or do the Flames call-up Reto Berra, who has been pretty solid in Abbottsford?

Absolutely not. MacDonald has been solid and Ramo paid the price for poor defensive work of the Flames D yesterday. It's way too early to panic because of Karri ... it's been two games, for god's sake.

Why? Ramo needs more than two games to establish himself. Bryzaster is no better. Why did the Flyers buy him out?

No. The Sharks would have lit up a shooter tutor last night. Ramo had no chance on any of those goals.

No chancey Mr. Whalen. No chancey.

Flames have two goaltenders down in Abby they can call up for a looksee.

What's the best case scenario? Bryz plays like Mr. Universe and sneaks us into 8th place? And we get the Sharks in round one? Who would like to see how Bryz holds up against the Sharks in a seven (or more likely four) game series?

You haffa be mad.

Depends on what the goals are for the season. Realistically they can't be expecting too much so they should be looking at their goaltending long term is the standard school of thought . However having solid tending is never a bad thing especially with a young team.

They don't have a proven NHL starter. Bryzgalov is one and available and one would think at a cheap price.

They have to give Ramo a good shot but dumping MacDonald and adding Bryzgalov might be worth doing. Just depends on what the plans are they have for this year. If they intend to just go with Ramos and Maybe Berra for the year whatever the outcome then so be it.

But if they want to finish as high as they can while still playing a lot of youth could be a good short term investment.

Over 2 games. Are you actually being serious? Ramo had a better game last night than Bryzgalov has had in at least 2 years.

There is no way you actually watched the game last night.

This is what happens when people look at stats and don't actually watch the games.

Ramo was adequate in his first game and pretty good last night. He had no chance on any of those goals and we're lucky the Sharks didn't hit double digits with the number of powerplays and scoring chances they had. I seriously doubt Bryzgalov would have faired better.

I didn't think Ramo played great in his first game. A little shakey, questionable confidence, mixed with a really dangerous offensive team, it all came out bad. He really looked like a KHL goalie, not an NHL goalie. After last night however, I thought he did a 180. He looked confident with the puck, his positioning was solid, overall, much better.

It's not that the GA was different, but it was his play when the puck wasn't in the net that stood out for me as being completely different. He got lit up by power plays and deflections, something any goalie would be a victim to.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wanted to go after Bryz. Ramo looked good if you look past the stats a little bit. I even like Bryz, and I still say there's absolutely no point.

You cannot look at Ramo's game last night and said he played bad. Each one of those goals by the Sharks would've been tough saves for any goalie considering half of them were deflections/screens and the others were shots in high percentage locations off of one-timers.

His stats last night were just a result of a very good offensive team having a great night.
