no big saves and Rammo the goat??
What game were you watching?
Pavelski with a 2 line breakaway. Burns penalty shot.
As for as a goat - Russell goes in first on a simple dump in and Pavelski comes up with the puck virtually uncontested.
He dumps it to Burns in front who is unguarded because Wideman and Colbourne are both behind the net.
If it would have been 44 rather than 4 there would a be thread devoted to the D-man's goat play. Might be the worst corner play of the year.

Sorry but I am with these two, there is no way that Ramo was the goat in that game. I would not blame him for any of those goals.

3 goals on the power play and 2 deflections. That makes Ramo the goat?! Not a chance. Defence was awful in that game. Ramo was hung out to dry all night long. There's a few better choices for goat IMO. if Ramo doesn't start on Monday something's wrong.

I made Ramo the goat not because he played poorly but because he didn't really keep the Flames in it. He definitely didn't let in any bad goals. I went back and forth on that one as I thought lots of players could have been the goat last night.

Ramo's not the reason the Flames lost.

Didn't keep them in it? Breakaways and a penalty shot could have easily put it out of reach. But yet he kept it close enough to come within 1 in third. Did you watch the game?

Didn't keep them in it? It could've been 10-3. Hard to blame him for a couple of wide open cross crease one timers and a couple deflections. You're probably just spoiled from having Kipper in net the last few years making impossible saves. But even Kipper wouldn't have for us a win last night. The D-zone coverage was god awful.

Actually Im thinking you didn't watch the game. He wouldn't even have been in my top 5. No goalie was stopping 5 of the 6 goals period, we were that bad........

Very few goalies would have gotten Calgary a win last night with the march to the box that they had, coupled with the defensive breakdowns.
I didn't give Ramo the goat horns because I thought he was the worst player on the ice. I gave him the goat horns because I thought I would see more from him is all.

I can think of several saves that I would consider "big" that Ramo made, not Kipper big but solid. The goat horns should not have been placed on Ramo. Glencross and Brodie had a poor outing and same can be said for Wideman. They would have been better candidates.

Brodie, Wideman, Glencross anyone but Ramo really. His composure was pretty damn good considering his team fell apart in front of him. I would say the goat was a complete lack of defensive coverage, no one seemed to have their man at any point in that game.

So he got the goat horns because you didn't see enough from him, meanwhile Brodie, Glencross and Wideman are making mistakes, taking penalties and being just overall bad and they don't get the horns?
Ramo had zero support lastnight save the effort from Butler (puke) to clear the puck that was going in from the crease. Players lake Jackman and Glencross taking stupid penalties are the reason why San Jose got so many pp's and were able to run up the score, not Ramo.
*edit*
I also realize I'm kinda piling on you here, I enjoy your write ups and think you do a good job. It's gotta be tough to come up with something to write so thanks. I know I couldn't do it.

Thanks for the write up Super-Rye.
I think he get's it that Ramo didn't deserve the goat horns. No need to dogpile. It's not easy to write a GT in the middle of the night on a Saturday.
I definitely would have given them to the officials. Horrible game to watch with all the borderline calls.
That or Butler. Because I hate him. No other reason really.

Hey man it is all good. I like doing these write ups because I like the debate that follows. We all see the game differently and take away different things.

Can we stop it with this horsecrap please?
So the guy had a different opinion than you.... is it really hard to believe he didnt watch the game because of it?
I did these write ups for a few years and its a pretty thankless job, which is fine as you know that going in, but the amount of nonsensical feedback they get is ridiculous...maybe he should return what he gets paid for it eh?
Be critical...but have some freaking tact about it already.

...3 GP, 10 minutes total icetime and Jackman already has penalties from spearing and a headshot. Way to keep it classy.
How about giving Blair Jones that spot.
