I know it's the Oilers and we have to hate everything they do, but I don't find it that bad of a move.
Bryz gets a bad rap from the media, he's a decent goalie with spouts of brilliance (or a great goalie with spouts of embarrassment) and he's a big improvement over Dubnyk. I would have been quite happy had the Flames taken a flier on him.
Remember, your ability to stop pucks and your ability to talk about space and the wonders of the universe don't have to be connected.

I disagree.
At this point it may not be a terrible move, but Bryz has only shown himself to be a good goalie in a good system and he was never impressive in Philly. Seeing as the Oilers dont have a good system, I dont see him being a good fit.

He is still way better than Dubynk. Too bad he's still pretty crappy and that Oilers D is pure crap. Won't help them except they will prob lose by 2 goals instead of 4.

That's true. Maybe I just like him because I feel like he didn't get a fair shake from the goaltender garborator that is Philly. I still think he can turn it around.
Bryzgalov is a good goaltender and would be a huge improvement over the Oilers current tandem. He and The Barbara would be good for the Oilers and nothing to sniff at. They still need three or four defensemen who know how to lay a body on on someone. Bryzgalov won't solve their problems but will be an improvement.
I want him in Edmonton in a high pressure situation to get that team into playoff contention, behind that weak sauce completely lost defense with small weak forwards and checking forwards that don't do a particularly good job of checking.
Yup sounds like a match made in heaven combined with a goalie that flew apart at the seams when the heat got turned up, refused to play games, drove his team mates up the wall and hasn't been good since he played behind a team with a complete collapsing defensive philosophy.
I think the Oilers should do everything they can to get him. I think fair value to go to Edmonton is 8 years and $56 million bucks.

He could definitely turn it around if he can get in with a stingy team like the Coyotes or Wild. The Oilers are definitely not a defensively minded team that will help Bryzgalov keep pucks out of the net.

It wouldn't be "that bad of a move", but only because it would be utterly pointless. And that is because I disagree with you on him being an upgrade on Dubnyk. With Bryz or without, the Oilers are going to get mediocre goaltending that is occasionally great and often poor. So why bother?
Incidentally, it should be noted that this isn't a rumour. This is just a Sportsnet columnist asking "why not?"
Bryz is not very good, and a head case to boot. I hope he goes to Edmonton, plays horribly, and screws up the development of all their wonderkids. Nothing would please me more.
