But remember at some point that there was some fake real player plug-in that one could get. Anyone have the link - there's a typhoon heading my way and want to keep up to date on it so I know when to head home (so I actually can get home...)

The real funny thing is that just we here in Tokyo had a 6.3 mag earthquake on Saturday (lots of wobbling, but no major damage), so apparently Mother Nature has something against us this week.

I dont' have the link.. but there is a program called 'real alternative' same program but with out all the added crap and spyware garbage

you should be able to find it pretty easily if you google it

Get realplayer alternative so you don't need Real Network's clumsy spyware player
Go get quicktime alternative too so you don't need Apple's feature-less player.
And then play them both by getting the opensource Media Player Classic as well so you don't need Microsoft's horrible and bloated player.
