Default I want to cut a tree down for firewood

I know I need a felling permit and I can get that from Canadian Tire but I am not sure where I can go to get the wood. Does anybody have an idea of what the rules are on this? Maybe point me in the right direction.

Cheers.

Here's all the info you need:

http://srd.alberta.ca/recreationPubl...g/Default.aspx

And specifically the maps: http://srd.alberta.ca/FormsOnlineSer...ermitMaps.aspx

Doesn't look like Canadian Tire sells the permits?

^^^ Thanks! I know I have got a wood permit from CT in the past. Perhaps it has changed.

I bought from Canadian Tire in Rocky Mountain House before - not available in Calgary only the ESRD offices here or online:

$5.25

Gonna fire up the new chainsaw today and get enough wood to heat my living room for the winter

I for one look forward to December's bump in the "Lets talk about fire pit ashes" thread.

Buy a doctors stethoscope and use it as each axe stroke cuts into the tree's vulnerable flesh so you can listen to it screaming as it knows its doomed.

Our ancestors are shaking their heads right now at the ridiculousness of us needing a permit to cut a tree down for warmth

I've never heard of a 'felling' permit.

Nothing beats the smell and crackle of a wood burning fireplace. I envy you.

Just make sure you dont cut down the tree containing Hexus... The forest sprites will be in for one heck of a battle if you do that.

There's usually enough dead wood lying about, in the forest, that you don't have to go cutting trees down. I don't know whether you need a permit for this or not. The Forest Reserve would be the place to go.

EDIT: I see above you do need a permit.

And I laugh at our ancestors as I lie in bed and turn up my furnace with my iPhone for warmth.

I hope I don't see a post like this from you later on today asking for good roof contractors...

Is it sad that all I can think about would be the wicked live edge slab tables I could make with that tree.
