Hockey pool question
Please move and sorry in advance as i wasnt sure which sub-forum to put this in.
Who are your dark horses this year in hockey pools? Our pool is pretty basic with G, A, W/SO counting towards points. 9 fwds, 3 D, 2 Gs.
Im looking at Danny Briere towards the later rounds.. and possibly Teemu Selanne.

Jarome Iginla!
He's with a team that is more suited to his style of game. Add to that he's got some great line mates. I expect to see 30 goals and 70 points from Iggy

Maybe Vinny Lecavalier in a later round. He's sort of been forgotten lately but he could put up big numbers with Giroux and Voracek.

Wideman for a D man. He is going to get tons of ice time and power play time.

^ Speaking of D, remember Krug last playoffs? If your league has enough bench spots to afford trying out a D this guy could be a steal

Yup.
I like Taylor Hall to beat PPG, so that'd be a good late first round pick if you can't get the obvious guys.
Max Pacioretti always seems to be undervalued unless you have Habs fans in your pool.
If you want to take a shot at a guy, Brent Burns, playing RW with Thornton, could rack 'em up. He did very well after being moved there last season, it's just tough to guess how he'll maintain over 82 games.
In terms of D, people are always pretty mesmerized by getting the Subbans and Webers. Realistically the point difference between those guys and an Alex Edler / Keith Yandle / Tobias Enstrom probably won't win you your pool, so getting the latter a round later than the former is a good call. The only D worth taking early is Karlsson.

If that's where you're taking the Mikko Koivus of the world, yeah. Letang's a high 50's low 60's guy from where I sit. There are a number of D-men who are legitimate threats to crack 50.
