Hey gang, already contacted Jiri and Cheese on this, no good ideas yet so floating it out there to see if anyone else has encountered this and I might be able to figure out how to resolve it, as we all want this done quickly so we may move forward.

Downloaded the new editor update and new roster file, both from the 'Time to check roster' thread. Deleted all old editor and league files. Unpacked new editor and loaded up new file.

I get an error message telling me 'roster file CPHL1.stc' is too old.

I deleted again. I have searched to see if an old file was kicking around. I have re-downloaded and reset everything. Everything appears to be as it should, the file path is correct to the new file, and yet I get the error message.

Anyone else hit a snag with this that may be able to point me in the right direction? Really don't wanna hold up the league. Was unable to do this earlier do to personal issues.

same thing happening to me now ... had to download the file and the editor again because I reset my laptop last weekend. Did my roster check before that and everything worked fine. Has the sim file been changed since?

yeah. I downloaded everything about a week ago, checked my roster, everything was fine. Then reset my laptop on Sunday, downloaded everything again today and now I'm getting the same "too old" error.

I haven't updated the file since the post - at least in terms of uploading a new one. Everything is the same.
Perhaps someone could step up and check the rosters for the teams struggling to get this done? We'll have to figure out going forward but right now I need to get the rosters set to allow us to have a pre-season.

maybe that IS the problem? Because the file is over a week old? Just guessing here

EDIT: seems like droopydrew had the same issue last year (also a week after the file was uploaded) and a new file solved it:

Yeah I know nothing has changed, just wondering if the new editor has a time limit or something like that on the files it reads, IE past a certain date are invalid. Now that we know devo is having the same problem, I wonder if everyone would have the same problem if the downloaded and loaded today.

Regardless, as for getting this done, I think I am the only one left, though only the league knows for sure. Anyone want to volunteer to check my roster for me? I'll continue to troubleshoot in the meantime and let everyone know if anything happens, but I can't think of anything as it stands right now.

Also anyone else not done who is having the same problem?

Lastly anyone else with ideas or also having the problem now, but has sent theirs in? Just out of curiosity if this thing needs to be fixed in the future so we have more info to go on.

I don't know much about the editor so obviously I'm just speculating

OK I've uploaded a new file. See if that works. Make sure you erase your other one.

Let me know if anyone else has issues. I can take a quick screenshot of your roster and you can go off of that until you get set up.

I downloadwed the file from Rosters, download but I am getting that error now. 'roster file CPHL1.stc' is too old.

Where do i get the new file from?

Yup, guess all it was. I knew the files did 'time out' at a certain point, exactly why Jiri said don't use the rosters link, but had assumed the one on the thread would be ok. But I guess it had gotten old enough where it was too old as well.

Hence the error message, roster file is too old. We'll all know for the future now, links have to be fresh, looks like within a week by estimates.

During the season the file is updated daily so no problem there

Yup, just meant we know for offseasons now too. It seems like the issue pops up every once in a while.
