Cammalleri has signifcant hand injury
Roger Millions @RogMillions 18s Mike Cammalleri, big question for #Flames. Hearing significant injury to his hand. Has missed games and much of pre season.
Roger Millions @RogMillions 9s Cammalleri may miss much more time. He is skating, but major issues holding his stick..etc... tough loss for rebuilding #Flames if so

Problem is I don't think it is will be tanking this year for the Flames. More like they will be giving it their very best and still be competing for the best chances at the lottery pick 1st overall.
Anyways, back to the hand injury. I hope Cammy can get back into the lineup soon. I believe his real value is in the dressing room for the Backlunds, Reinharts, Horaks, and Monahans.

If this bumps him out of the opening night roster, which player assumedly takes his place? I'd say based on Hartley's recent comments about Reinhart and Ferland, one of those two now have a better shot at making the team. Atleast, for now.

What's the worst it can be? Broken and out 4-6 weeks?
Hopefully it is not a surgery thing. I was hoping for a big season from him in case we need to flip him at the deadline (or the off chance the team is actually competetive this season).

Hope he's back soon and it's not lingering as he needs to have a good season to ensure a good return at the deadline.

Sucks to not have Cammy for the start of the season, but at least it opens up a spot for a youngster.

Too bad for Cammy. Flames can get a longer look at 1 of the offensive young players. Reinhart or Granlund maybe.

So what? This happened at practice? Is it the reason for the Glencross / SOB drama?
I could see SOB doing something dumb, hurting Cammalleri and motivating Glencross to step in.

Not the guy to have injured, he needed to up his trade value. Hopefully he be back soon, time for another youngster to grab a spot till then.

Hopefully he gets better quick. I think he's more valuable as a Flame than he is as trade bait. If we could get a 1st and a 2nd or decent prospect then I could see the point in trading him, but if our hope is to trade him for a 1st that MIGHT turn out to be as good as Cammi in 4-5 years? I don't know if I'm into that.

There is speculation that it was by the same player that broke Backlund's pinky a while back.

Unbelievable! The season hasn't even started and people are posting 'TANKING' and 'TRADING' already.
Too bad Cammy is injured. I was hoping for Sean Monahan to play with him while Monahan is still in the NHL. I really want Monahan to stay the full season in the NHL and having to play with Cammy might do him well.

He's an expiring contract and the only true first line player on the team. If you don't have an extension in place at the deadline, he can't be on the roster.
Sucks that he may miss time. Sven's gonna get force fed the top line minutes whether he's ready or not.

Byron broke his hand last year and look how long he was out 2-3 months I believe.

Cammi has been injured for a while. I doubt its a broken hand, they would have known if its broken by now.
I can't see this affecting his trade value. Cammi has been injured many times and is not the type of player when he comes back from injury that needs 2-3 months to get back in the swing of things.
He was not going to be put on a line with one of the few youngsters that have a chance at making the team so can't see how that effects them? There are plenty of veterans on this team to help the youngsters.
If anything an extra youngster gets to play a couple of weeks of NHL hockey.
