Big game for the young guys, and Berra. Should be interesting to see who steps up and claims a spot.

Rooting for Berra to do well tonight... really want to see a Ramo/Berra tandem in goal to start the season.
One more chance for Sven to prove to management that he belongs up here instead of starting the season in Abbotsford? So far his play this pre-season has fairly uninspiring. Not sure what's going on in his head. Maybe he figures he's a lock to stay in Calgary?
Rooting for Monahan to have another big game. Really want to see this boy stay here instead of going back to the OHL. The OHL will do nothing for his skill level at this stage in his development.

Well Baertschi was the best Flame in Saskatoon without a doubt, so it's not like he's had a bad preseason. Not many saw the Regina game but I think I remember him having a good game there as well. So not sure where the uninspiring play comment is coming from.

Baertschi also took over the game in the third period in Edmonton.
He's been fine and he'll be fine.

Yeah, I'm with the rest here, really bizarre comment. Sven has been great during the preseason and his roster spot is assured.
There's literally no chance in hell he isn't with the NHL club this season.

Although I'm looking forward to the first proper broadcast of the year, I kind of like the minimalist production values from the online direct feed/radio.

It sure is nice listening to Peter Maher and watching the game at the same time. That's what most of us would love to have every game.

No not injured, although he did have a jaw issue after his fight. According to a Feaster interview at this point he's closer to making the big club than not.
Perhaps they are giving Butler or O'Brien one last chance to show that they are worthy of a bottom pairing spot. That or they plan to roll with 7 D to start the year.

Butler is a decent bottom pairing guy but he shouldn't be near a top pairing like he was under Brent Sutter.
Shane O'Brien is tough as nails but useless as ####, waive him, send him down.

The bolded part makes no sense. Wouldn't the flames want to see what the youngsters could do against line-ups closer to an NHL team? There is no way that the youngsters have played well enough to be given the last 2 pre-season games off.
