Hanowski and Poirier this early?

Poirier especially has been very good.

Also very surprised to see Cundari going down.

Huh, a little surprised by Cundari being cut. Wotherspoon taking his spot maybe?

Although, I expected these players to be cut, I didnt expect Poirier, Cundari, and possibly Hanowski to be cut in the first round.

Not understanding why Poirier would be sent down already given how he's performing.

^^^
Considering how confused and flustered I was when we drafted him, it feels damn good to say that.

Yes. At this point they should be sending away anyone that doesn't have a chance at making the NHL team as much as I like Hanowski and Poirier they weren't going to make the team this year and thus shouldn't be kept away from the camps for teams that they can/will be a part of. I'm surprised Kanzig & Sieloff aren't cut yet (or do they have to keep Sieloff because he got hurt while with the team).

Although I'm surprised about Cundari as well. Thought he had an outside shot at making the team.

We have too many top 9 wingers. Cammy, Glencross, Baerstchi, Hudler, Jones, Stempniak. If he's not playing top 9, there's no point in staying here.

Paul Byron - C
Mark Cundari - D

Ben Hanowski - LW
Greg Nemisz - RW

I can understand it. Flames don't play another preseason game for what 5 days? And realistically he wasn't going to make the team as there is just to many other guys ahead of him. Mind as well get him back to his junior club so he can play this weekend. Have to be be real encouraged by his camp though.

The only suprises for me are Cundari and Ortio. Thought I'd see more of them. Hanowski hasn't really stood out. Poirier was a real stretch to last past this point, he's played well but there are only so many spots upfront this year.

I would personally see these guys up a bit longer to really soak in the experience and learn as much as possible before going back to junior. I love that they're doing it with Kanzig, just wish Poirier was included as well. Missing a game or two in juniors is irrelevant. Not a huge deal either way, great camp from him overall.

That's got to be a blow to Cundari. Ramage, Wotherspoon, Smith, Billins and Seiloff (perhaps) jumping ahead of him (I'm assuming Kanzig will be back to juniors soon).
