I expect Spezza to have a monster year... I think both he and Bobby Ryan are motivated and going to have great years...career best for Ryan, statistically...and close to that for Spezza.
I think it will be spezza's best year for all round play, but he may not meet the total points numbers he had with Heatley and Alfie during their peak.
That's a bit beyond my expectation, but certainly not out of reach, I suppose.
If that were to happen, I wonder if Spezza finally makes an Olympic team??
Spezza wasn't even invited to the orientation camp, so he's obviously a real long shot to make the team, especially when the center position is stacked with talent.

He's been solid in international competitions, but the center depth on team Canada is nuts. I find it would be tough for him to make the team unless he was on pace for 100 points. Which could happen if Michalek satys healthy (doubtful) and ryan can do what he does more consistently.
Assuming Crosby and Stamkos take the top 2 C positions, I prefer players like Mike Richards that have a strong defensive presence on the bottom 2 lines.
I think Spezza is a bit under-rated though...I don't see what Claude Giroux has over him, for example.
Logical choice for the Sens. It's Spezza's time to take over with Alfredsson gone and I hope they do well this year. I can see Ryan and Spezza take control of games.
