Dude when it comes to the Canucks, it could be a team of Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Augusto Pinochet, Josef Stalin and Kim Jong Il and if one of them scores against the Canucks you take it.
I am really intrigued by the Byron-Granlund-McGrattan line. Just enough forechecking physical pop for two very skilled small forwards. We've seen that McGrattan can score when given the opportunity. I wouldn't be shocked for them to be the best line for the Flames in this game.

Poor Granlund. Has to play with Byron and McGrats. How is he supposed to try and make a case for himself? He should at least be playing in the top 6. Swap for Jackman.
Man they did a pretty lousy job of evening out the skill on both teams. I guess they wanted to try and give the home fans a good first showing. Then we have to watch this group get destroyed at the hands of Hall and Yakupov..

I feel more sorry for Horak. Not sure what he has to do to not have to play with Jackman? Granted these lines will be shuffled all game.

It's preseason.

Maybe they don't think there's a spot for him in the top-6 this year, so they want to see how he acquits himself in a bottom-6 role.

All he has to do is keep on doing what he has been doing regardless of who his linemates are. The rest will take care of itself. He has the skill to do so. And Byron isn't bad in the corners and can make a decent pass. So there could be some production there.
Just my frustrations with the coaching staff constantly making lines that I can't wrap my head around. Starting with the penticton tourney.. And yes it's preseason, but I'd really like to see how certain players look together in this small window, especially when most of them won't be here in a couple weeks.
The first line I've actually liked is the Ferland - Monahan - Poirier playing in the Calgary game, but of course that game won't be available. These lines are just whack. Granlund should be alongside Horak on the 2nd line, or centering the 1st line besides Bart (whom he had notable chemistry with..) while swapping Hudler for Hanowski to provide them with some grit. And most of all, Wotherspoon should be on that 2nd defense pairing.
I sure hope there is a lot of line shuffling like they're saying.
