Default Peter Mueller signs with Kloten

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 2m
Former Panther Peter Mueller has signed with Kloten in SUI. BTW, Mueller is not on Twitter so any accounts claiming to be him are fake.

I'm surprised no one signed this guy, he had a decent year last season and could have been had relatively inexpensively.

Yeah pretty surprised he couldn't find an NHL home. Maybe he just wanted to head back to Europe.

Trying to remember but I believe it was a concussion that derailed his career.. or several.

54 points in his rookie season, out of the NHL 5 years later.

I'll never forget the Mueller showdown against Toews in the 2007 World Juniors - both took multiple shots in the shootout

Mueller 2 for 3
Toews 3 for 3

Yeah, it resulted in him losing the entire 2010-11 season.

I'm also pretty surprised that he couldn't find a home, especially on a team like the Panthers were he put up reasonable numbers in a shortened season. I guess they figure that his spot would be better filled by one of their prospects.... still, you'd think another team would throw a league min contract at him and see if he puts up 30 points.

He had a decent start to the season but had 2 goals in his last 25 games despite being on the same line and given the same powerplay chances as Huberdeau.

An inconsistent, not great skating, not physical top 6 tweener with concussion problems? Shouldn't be a big surprise that he wasn't signed when more versatile players like Morrow haven't found a position or Boyes who doubled Mueller's production (sure with Tavares...)

Anyways, all the best. Hope he can bounce back and find his way back to the NHL as it sucks seeing anyone's career derailed by injuries.

Mueller is a talented hockey player. It's too bad that he had concussion problems but if I remember correctly, there were questions about his work ethic at the time of the draft.
