- All the standard guidelines from the buy/sell forum apply to this forum.
- Tickets may be bought, sold, and traded.
- There will be no scalping of tickets.
- Scalping is selling a ticket for more than the value that it was issued at (face value).
- No additional fees (Ticketmaster fees, delivery fees, convience fees) may be charged or passed on (since we can't know if you actually paid these fees or not).
- You must detail exactly where they are including the colour. This is extremely important as it will be used to determine the price you can charge for your ticket.
- Do not link to other sites such as eBay for ticket sales.
- Do not post your phone number or email address in the post. The reason for this is to cut down on scalpers trying to take advantage of our members.
We take this very seriously. Any user caught scalping tickets will be banned and have all their information forwarded to the pertinent authorities. If you arrange to buy tickets but get bait and switched or charged more than was listed on the forum, let the Moderator know ASAP.
This is the current list of ticket prices for Flames games:

I always ask for STH prices, because if the ticket was issued to me at that price, asking for face value is scalping, is it not?

Scalping is selling tickets for more then the face value of tickets, season ticket holders pay less then face value however it is not considered scalping to sell for face value.
I'm not 100% sure but I think it's even acceptable to charge more then the face value as they appear on season tickets in the case of premium games since the flames put the same price on all season ticket holder tickets even though they charge extra for the individual premium games. I think I recall seeing people do this in the past but you may want to check with a mod.

The most we allow is face value. Seeing as Ticketmaster has some games at a higher face value (keeping in mind you cannot charge the TM fees), we allow that if it is designated a premium game.
However I would be cautious trying to sell games near face value. So many times I saw tickets being sold at face value; then on game day the person starts dropping their price. Often it's too late at that point.

When I became a sth, I quickly realized there is a huge industry of ticket reselling. Here is the problem, if I can't use or find a home for my tickets, how do I get the tics into the hands of a flames fan, and not into the hands of a "ticket broker", while still receiving a fair price?
Kijiji is filled with flakes, who either stand up the buyer or the seller, with little method of recourse.
eBay takes about 12% of the sale but is a way to at least get something for your unusable tics. The downside is when a scalper buys your ticks for cheap, only to flip the tickets.
From what other sth cp'ers have told me, this is a good method of getting ticks into flames fans hands at fair prices. If your tics are sold then flipped, i cant speak for the mods, but i would assume they would take reasonable action. As they would with runaway brides.
After years of scrambling to find tickets to games, and sometimes paying absurd prices, I finally became a sth. Only then did I realize the extent of the "ticket broker" industry. I think it is up to all sth to try and keep tics away from this industry and into fans hands, with cp being a way of fighting the scalpers.

I like selling for the STH price anyway. NHL tickets are darn expensive, and if selling at STH price means I don't incur a loss for a game me/my folks can't go to, and some fans get to enjoy a game at a good price, that sounds good to me.
I do cringe at the thought of someone reselling the tickets at a big profit, especially when I've sold playoff tickets in the past.
I trust you, CP!

Just to be clear, as much as I don't like the idea of somebody flipping tickets that were sold to them at a CP discount; I'm not sure what else we as mods could do. For example, on at least one occasion I have bought tickets on CP that another friend wanted. Now I didn't make anything on the deal, but even if I charged my friends more, how could you prove it?
I think the thing to keep in mind is that when selling on CP, you have a greater chance of getting your tickets into the hands of a fan, and a lesser chance of being jerked around with respect to meeting times, no shows, etc. Just because there is a bit of a sense of community here.

To avoid selling to scalpers I prefer to only sell my season ticket electronically.
Some buyers say they only want the hard copy (which I have refused to in the past) but most agree to receiving the tickets by email. New buyers are sometimes concerned about paying before receiving their tickets, but my history on CP usually convinces them that it'll be a safe transaction.

With the Flames going to paperless season tickets this season, it looks like everyone will now be selling 'email only tickets' here on CP.
