Iphone 5 music question

Not very technically savvy, behind on the times a lot (just got a PVR last year!!) anyways I got a Iphone 5 a few months back and have downloaded a lot of music on there, I am starting to get worried that my phone is going to fall in water or I am going to lose it like the last few...so I was wondering what my options were to transfer music from my IPhone to somewhere else. Could I eventually put them on a CD? Thanks in advance for any tips, much appreciated.

What's a CD?

Transfer copies to a USB drive or stick. DropBox even.
