Bremen to be exact. My wife is doing her master's degree so we will be moving there in October for 2 years. I was hoping people on here will have some advice/suggestions on living overseas.
I plan on working although not entirely sure what I will do. I have been to Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt but only for a few days each on vacation. I don't speak any German but plan on buying Rosetta Stone and taking language courses once I arrive.
But Belgian beer is way better, no matter what those Krauts say.
Czech is best, though.
When I was in Munich, the tv in the hotel had one channel that showed nothing but hardcore lesbian porn (or, at least, that's what was on anytime I turned to that channel).

Thanks for the help guys, I will check out that duolingo and the winter market looks cool, apparently the freimarkt starts just as I get there. Thanks for the heads up meanmachine13 but unfortunately that would be too far from Bremen. And DuffMan if you happen to talk to your friend and hear about any good areas to live it would be greatly appreciated.
Even when I was in Germany, they said that the czech was the best.
It was sort of heart-breaking when I was in the Czech Republic and spent $0.70 on a room temperature beer (pilsner urquell) and realized it was far superior to any beer I've ever had in North America. My reaction to drinking a Keith's when I got back home: "What is this vile swill, I thought I liked this beer?"
