One of my favourite Flames still, and criminally underrated throughout the league. He had the equivalent of a 30 goal season over an 82 game schedule last season, meaning he's been consistently improving every season. Also one of our few forwards that can create havoc on the forecheck with his speed and willingness to finish checks.
He's one of our better finishers and one of the few veterans I really want to stay with the team through the rebuild. And all for only a $2.55M caphit.
Glencross, Stajan, and Stempniak were lights out last season for us. A really pleasant surprise.

That Glencross - Stajan - Stempniak line was great last year. It sucks that we're likely to trade at least two of them this season, but gotta strike while the iron's hot.
Great stuff as usual AC. Really appreciate all your videos.

Great clip. The problem with Glencross is that many games he will just do a fly by instead of finishing his check. If he brings the intensity ever game he would be a force. Still 2-3 million underpaid under the current market.
So next up will be a Cammy 12/13 video, then hopefully I can get the Backlund career video going (I'm in the process of archiving the clips from a few earlier seasons so that may not work yet).
But I think I may do a Stempniak video for his time as a Flame, he's had some pretty goals for sure.
Call me crazy but I wouldn't mind a full year of Glencross, Stajan, Stempniak next year. At their cap hit I think they have much more value playing for the Flames this year than being traded.
I'm hoping that the Glencross-Stajan-Stempniak line is kept together this season and used to play against other teams top lines. Glencross and Stempniak are both above average skaters in the NHL and Stajan is a competent defensive player. They are all streaky as well so it should be exciting to watch them when they get on rolls from time to time.
However, I wouldn't go so far as to say I am hoping for a full year, as Stajan and Stempniak are both UFA's at year's end, so it would only be prudent to make the most of out their value at the trade deadline (barring a surprisingly successful season in the standings).
Thanks for the video AC. Glencross is a player that I don't think I appreciate as much as he deserves. Great skater and great shot, but he's also a very clever offensive player too.
Undrafted, first NHL game at age 25, what a success story!!
I noticed how prominent Iginla was in this high-light package.. The Flames are going to miss him.
You wonder how well Glencross could have done playing on the Iginla line for the last 3-4 years if Tanquay and Cammalleri did not have to play with him.
Bouwmeester ( the other 7M star) was conspicuous by his absence in this highlight package.
I think that Glencross makes other players better... He and Moss got Conroy to a high level Conroy's second last year.
This year he gets Stajan and Stempniak to play at a level that they hadn't done for 3 or more years
Year before he makes Jokinen the highest scoring UFA centre on the market.
Year before Rene Bourque has 27 goals 50 pts.
Backlund and Knight and Monahan should be trying to get him on their line this year.
He might be able to bring David Jones back up to his 4M level.
