Default GAME #6: Riders at STAMPEDERS

The two best teams in the CFL are playing against each other tomorrow. Hopefully we will see MORE RED jersey on the stand instead of seeing mostly green.

OFFENSE :

Hufnagel named Drew Tate as a starting QB early this week but had to changed his mind after Drew Tate's injury setback. Tate will be lost for at least 2-3 weeks due to his injury. Nothing to worry though because we still have 2 capable QBs in Kevin Glenn, who will be the starter and Bo Levi Mitchell as his backup. I supposed R Brad Sinopli will be the emergency backup QB.

Stamps' offense is second in the CFL in points and total yards per game. BLM had one of the best career starts in the CFL history and was named the CFL Offensive Player of Week the week after. He completed 29 passes for 376 yards and 3 TDs and a QB rating 153.1.

Last time Stamps played the Riders Cornish only rushed 8 times for 42 yards. Not sure why Dickenson and Hufnagel ignored Cornish on that game after having an awesome game rushing in the first game. I don't even think the Riders shut him down all night, it's just that they decided to throw the ball more instead of using Cornish. Last week's game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, he rushed 22 times for 175 yards and 1 TD.

Calgary passing offense does not rely on one receiver. This season, QB Glenn, Tate or Mitchell completed passes to 13 different receivers. The last 2 games Glenn and Mitchell distributed the ball to 10 receivers the last two games. According to Hufnagel, Maurice Price will be ready to play tomorrow against the Riders.

DEFENSE :

Defense is in tough in stopping RB Kory Sheets or trying to stop Riders' receivers like Rob Bagg, Taj Smith, Weston Dressler(10/108 vs Stamps), Getzlaf and Geroy Simon.

Good news to hear DE Charleston Hughes will be coming back tomorrow against the Riders. Cordarro Law had 4 tackles, 1 QB sack and 1 forced fumble vs Winnipeg might switch position because DT Kevin Huntley is hurting and questionable.

I guess the key to stopping Riders offense is not to give QB Darian Durant time and options. Pressuring him will force him to make mistakes and tries to force him to win the game by himself. Might be different now with OC George Cortez now coaching him though.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Kicker Rene Paredes will still continue his field goal succession streak and hopefully it last for a long time. Returner Larry Taylor I think is due to break open and return for a TD. Special Team coverage had a hard time last time these two teams played in the 2nd week but I am sure they learned from that mistake.

************************************************** ****

It is going to be a very exciting game tomorrow night at McMahon Stadium. The game will be televised starting at 7pm by TSN in Canada and NBCSN for US TV viewers.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

I'm willing to bet that this game will be won and lost in the trenches. I think that whichever team has the greater rushing yards will win the game. Stop the run and win the game.

Just looked on ticketmaster and there are not very many tickets left! I would guess no more than 600 are left! Lets sell this out! Should be an intense game, can't wait! GO STAMPS!

I believed this is the 4th game Jonathan Hefney will be sitting out. No indication of injuries so it looks like the numbers game. R Nik Lewis caught a pass in 162 consecutive games played, a mark that spans his entire career.

Kicker Rene Paredes broke Paul McCallum's 30 consecutive regular season field goals succession last game vs Winnipeg. Record is now in 34 consecutive field goals.

So pumped up about the game tonight.

Thank you NBC sports network! I get to watch the CFL in California for once! AND it's also a Stamps game? My lucky day...

Already up 14-0. Cornish is awesome...that is all.

Really cool that cfl games are on NBC sportsnet.

Also, I'm loving the domination so far.
