I've never done this before, but I'd imagine you would need these tools:

Depends on the type of car and type of stereo.
With my jeep you practically pull apart the whole center console to get at it.

usually if you search your brand of car and year and installing aftermarket stereo there will be 8 billion youtube videos showing you how to do it.

There are typically 'keys' that come are supposed to come with the deck - these slot in between the deck and the cage around it and release the unit. If you have a shop install it, they usually don't leave you the keys, not sure why... Where did you buy it? Your warranty may include removal of the unit if they installed it.
I worked at A&B Sound ages ago and we would remove a faulty deck for a customer as part of the product/install warranty.

Double din decks don't typically have keys or sleeves.
-Remove surrounding dash trim. Depending on your car you may want to do a google search for threads on radio removal on your model to see the starting point for removing the trim without damaging it.
-Remove four screws holding the radio mounting brackets to dash and pull the deck forward until you can access the wiring in the rear of the deck.
-Remove all harnesses and antenna from the rear of the deck.
-Pull deck out.
-Done.

Umm what? mine does. The deck locks into the cage and you use the keys to remove it (alpine double din)

Must be an old model or a car that didn't have a proper factory double din opening and an aftermarket kit. I do a fair bit of installs and it's been a long time since I've seen an aftermarket double din deck come with sleeves.

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciated. The shop will take it out free of charge for me, unfortunately the shop is 6 hours away from where I live now. The good news is ill be there this weekend, but they are completely booked up. It doesn't seem to difficult to remove so hopefully ill be okay. As long as I don't need those "keys"

Offer them cash, coffee or a 6 pack and see how fast one of them takes that deck out for you.
