I am guessing that he won't be receiving any calls from Linden for the GM position.

Good for Keenan, it can't be easy jumping into a whole new country, culture and language. That he was able to communicate with his players, adapt to the new style of play and win a championship is kind of impressive IMO.

A better coach than hockey panelist. That statement is cold certified.
Congrats Keens!

wow ... Karaoke in the dressing room after winning the league. That's actually kind of depressing.

Katie Baker did a pretty awesome story about his season in Russia a few weeks back:
"The Cold Never Bothered Him Anyway"
Quote:
“There’s only one phrase,” Gennady Velichkin, general manager of Metallurg Magnitogorsk, said to me through team translator Igor Mouraviev. We were sitting in his office one night in November, following his team’s fourth straight home win, and I asked him to describe Keenan. Velichkin smiled through a thick white mustache. “From all the Canadian coaches — he’s the most Russian.”

He was underrated while we had him. Bad goaltending can hide good coaching.

You're not completely out to lunch here. Kipper's numbers suffered when the team wasn't coached to play a completely defensive system.
He's got the most playoff wins behind the Flames bench since Darryl Sutter.

Can't really hate on the last coach that got us into a playoff berth.. He was good within the system he preached. We just weren't used to seeing a non tight-checking defense-first system at the time.
I honestly think we could've done better against the Hawks in '09 if it weren't for injuries. Weren't both Regehr and Dion out? It was unfortunate. The most offensively potent Flames team we'd had in years gone to waste.

Haha, that's nothing to brag about really.
