That's a great deal for the Leafs. The kid is going to be a star.

good deal for both sides. Short enough for Kadri to get his big pay day in 2 years should he continue to prove himself!

Great deal for both sides and a deal that makes a lot of sense.

Bridge contract clearly, but even at $2.9 million you hope that he doesn't have a sophomore slump. Leafs are already having cap troubles and they need that production from him.

Good bridge contract but the leafs are gonna have no cap flexibility once they sign Franson.

I heard $3.0 million per year, for two years.

All figures in $US....except for the two years part

Kadri is full of himself, and already thinks he's an elite talent. Time will time if that's the case, but I've heard some rumors from Leafs fans that he's not that well liked in the lockerroom. Take it for what you will, but be sort of comes off as Subbanesuqe to me, which some players might like.

You mean the same Subban who just won the Norris after he signed a 'lowbridge' contract last season? I think the Leafs will be ecstatic if he ends up being Subbanesque.

Its nice to see some GMs not giving in and dumping a huge pile of money on these young players. And it all started with Feaster and some of the RFA contracts he handed out this season

More like the Subban attitude problems where he gets into fights with teammates, and the team doesn't really want him around. You could tell when Subban held out last season that most of his team wasn't exactly enamored with the guy. Kadri hasn't been in any physical fights with anyone of the Leafs obviously, but he's not the most well liked guy on the team.

Also unlike Subban Kadri isn't exactly the model of fitness. We'll see what happens in a couple years when he does actually get signed to a long-term contract.

In two posts, you go from saying that it is a rumour to basically stating it as a fact. Nice.

Well with a guy like Phaneuf in the locker room, everyone else is not the most well liked person....

Great signing. Glad to see a lot of young kids getting signed to sensible contracts this summer. Then there is Henrique.
