Icon46 Chris Tanev to the KHL?

News1130 Sports ‏@News1130Sports 30m News1130 Sports has learned that there is signifigant interest from the #KHL in #Canucks restricted free agent Defefnseman Chris Tanev.

News1130 Sports ‏@News1130Sports 28m
Regarding #KHL interest in #Canucks RFA Chris Tanev, because of his age, deal would have to be multi-year. Money is signifigant. #NHL

What does that mean that because of his age, it would have to be a multi-year deal?

He's pretty much the same age Gio was when he went to Russia for a year (23, set to turn 24 early in the season).

I still think the Flames should offer sheet him for $1,682,194 and give up a 3rd rounder. Rumours going around that the Canucks aren't offering anywhere near even $1M.

Gillis should remain patient and assume the situation will resolve on its own. That methodology has proven to be a solid approach for him thus far..............

What if the KHL deal is considerably more? Wouldnt he just go there? then we lose a 3rd for nothing.

Um, if he accepts the offer sheet, odds are pretty good that he stays in the NHL.

I wouldn't want to play for the Canucks, either.

I hope not. If that happens, Tanev will come back as a pretty good player.

Yeah, I'd be open to the Flames writing up an offer sheet.
