Giving up two quality forward prospects and a 1st hurts, but this is all about the turn-around phase for the Canucks franchise. We want to be able to compete next year, and bringing in a 26 year old defenseman who can play on the top pairing is a part of that. We recognize this trade might be a bit of a risk with Staal's eye injury but we are very hopeful he can recover.

Finally a trade.

Needed to make room for cheaper Methot so moved out Staal. Like Miller but like Kerdiles a lot as well. Chi pick should be a mid round pick so 3 assets is a good haul.
