Jones, Trouba, Bennet and Bjudstad are very interesting invites, given the lack of NHL experience for all, particularly the dmen.

Well to their credit they probably have five goalies who could be starting for Team Canada. Too bad for them they are lacking in depth in pretty much every other position.

I would take Price over everyone other than Quick.
Maybe if Miller can turn it around this year he would be on par. Just don't trust Anderson enough to think last year was anything more than a fluke/hot streak.

I'm thinking it'll probably be another Canada/US Final again. I can't see how it won't with the two rosters they have.
Any word on what the Russian team looks like?

The US will need another miracle goaltending performance to beat out Sweden on International Ice and Russia at home and we have all seen Canada flub chances with the best team on International ice before so tough to see a repeat final in my view.
I think that Canada02 posted projected rosters of teams in the Prelimnary Canada roster thread.

I would probably take all of them (except for Gibson of course). Price still has consistency issues, and hasn't shown to be a capable goalie in clutch situations. Then there is Luongo who might be a better goalie than some of them, but I doubt Team Canada's braintrust has a ton of confidence in him. Meanwhile all five of those American goalies have proven in multiple seasons that they are capable of being very good goalies, and don't necessarily have the same issues that Luongo and Price do. Miller is really the only question mark right now, but how well he performed in 2010 puts him a little bit above the others imo.
Howard is a great goalie, and the contract Holland signed him to proves as much. Anderson was the best goalie in the world when healthy last season, and would have won the Vezina if he had played more games. He might not have the greatest track record, but right now he is better than any of the Canadian goalies.

I like their d-core better than ours. In no way does it lack depth.

I don't see much in Schneider's history to indicate that he is any better/consistent than Price. Howard has been consistently okay and Miller certainly has been up and down since 2010.
I don't think Price is light years ahead of them but certainly his talent would be above them and enough for me to take him over them despite any concerns about consistency.
I would put Luongo, Crawford and Smith in same group as Anderson, Miller, Howard, Schneider. Holbty above Gibson who is an odd choice and must be there for experience.

Sweden will be a serious threat on the big ice
Russia's roster doesn't scare me on paper, but they are at home
4 team tourney
And even though I think they are probably the 2nd best team on paper, I would give the U.S. the worst odds of the 4 to win gold (but they all have a reasonable shot)

Their d core isn't close to Canada's.
Only guy who would crack Canada's roster is Suter. Not another guy would or should even make the selection camp. (although Methot did so anything is possible.)

Really? I don't think it even comes close. Heck the Norris Trophy Winner (Subban) and finalist (Letang) are not locks for Team Canada. That right there shows what sort of depth Canada has on the backend.

Canada definitely has the higher-end forwards. Most of these guys are 2nd-3rd liners except for Parise, Kane, maybe Kessel.
But their defense group is pretty formidable. Quick and Anderson should be their two goalies, without a doubt.

They'll be bringing Scott Neidermayer back, so Canada will be fine.
