Default GAME #4 : Alouettes at STAMPEDERS

Back to back game between these two teams. Last week the Stamps prevailed 22-14. The score looks close but the whole game wasn't. In fact, Als fans started going home when Als special team blocked the punt and scored a TD to make it a close game.

OFFENSE :

QB Kevin Glenn will start his second game of the season ahead of injured starter Drew Tate. I just hope Glenn still have his magic from last season. Glenn went for 22 for 28 for 268 yards and 1 TD pass. Als' defense sacked him 6 times though. It seems like our OLine couldn't handle the Als D but with Dan Federkeil being back in the lineup tomorrow, it might help contain the AL's D.
R Brad Sinopli had an awesome debut as a receiver. The former QB caught 5 passes for 81 yards and one of those passes caught was highlighted on ESPN. Sinopli's night could have been perfect if it wasn't for that dropped ball late in the game. Give the guy 9/10 stars.
R Nik Lewis played well also catching 6 passes for 81 yards and 1 TD. His lone TD was from the tipped ball that he caught close to the goal line.
RB Jon Cornish went back on track carrying 18 times for 90 yards.
R Joe West had a quiet night while his partner-in-crime Mo Price did not dressed last week due to injury. Price will be back in the lineup on the 2nd game though. Question now is who will sit out. There was a rumour that even though Sinopli had an awesome game last week, there is a possibility he might sit out. Not sure how will that sit out with us Stamps fans though.

DEFENSE :

Calgary Defense is being decimated by injuries this season. First DL Corey Mace went down, then DL Micah Johnson, DB Jamar Wall and now LB Malik Jackson will be missing his first game this season. From what I heard, he might be gone for 6 weeks. No worries, super sub LB Deron Mayo will come to the rescue playing along MLB Juwan Simpson and LB/DB Keon Raymond. Not sure why Jonathan Hefney missed the game last week. Was it because he was a healthy scratch..played poorly vs Sask or was it hurting that we don't know about. I am sure he will back in the lineup backing Raymond on weak-side LB position. Keon Raymond led the Stamps defense with 6 tackles last week. DE Charleston Hughes was quiet last game but from what I heard he was banged-up that's why he missed the last portion of the game.

SPECIAL TEAM :

Special team group did their job last game. Other than the blocked punt by Montreal for TD. Kicker Rene "El Matador" Paredes was perfect 5 for 5 last game though.

OPPOSITION :

Alouettes offense has been struggling the last few games now. Not sure if Calvillo's game is declining or his OLine was just plain awful. Well, not a good news for Calvillo and company as All Star Guard Scott Flory will be gone for the rest of the season due to injury.

R Brandon London scored the lone offensive TD last game and seems to be Calvillo's favorite target this season. SJ Green and Jamal Richardson hasn't been use that much.

Als defense is the reason why Montreal haven't lost by a big margin. They are 2nd in the CFL with 14 QB sacks and managed to take down Kevin Glenn six times last week. Stamps OLine needs to get better in order to stop the Als DLine to pressure the QB. LB Cox played well last game as well with 10 tackles.

Anthony Calvillo was questionable early this week if he will play or not vs the Stamps. The last few days that changed. Calvillo will start the game but for how long he will play is a big question.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

Game Time : 5pm July 20th (Saturday) at McMahon Stadium
Televised on TSN and ESPN2

Glenn simply cant make that throw unless he is sure it will get through...christ that was an awful set of events.

Held them to 3....but now have to answer back...looking extremely lacklustre right now.

One more two-and-out, and I'm turning it off. Too nice a day to spend watching this crap.

Looks like the Stamps forgot the game starts at 5 pm and not 7pm. So far they haven't shown up yet. 24 - 0 Montreal and 1st quarter just ended.

Looks as if the Stamps believed their own press that they were better then they are. Horrible special teams, poor coverage, lack of tackling on defense. Offense can't do anything sure, but 3 TD's against is all on the defense.

Now i know why they don't use Anthony Parker much. He can't even catch an easy pass. This is his year to shine or else he is a bust!

Glenn is rattled. He's been throwing too long or too high.

To be fair, he's getting two guys in the backfield every play it seems, and knocked on his butt most plays. Cornish is also doing a below average job of picking the right one to block.
