Boston now has 'Ice Girls'
Found this on my Facebook page tonight. I follow almost all of the NHL, and some AHL / WHL, teams. I believe this is the first year for this in Boston.
I hope the Flames never go this route.

From the FAQ:
Quote:
Do I need to have skating or dancing experience to audition?
No. The role of an Ice Girl involves more than skating or dancing and includes duties both on and off the ice at Boston Bruins home games and at events in the community.

Ok, but don't the girls at the dome actually clear the slush and crap between plays, on the ice?
I think the Boston thing are just cheerleaders.

As soon as you put short shots and tight shirts on hot women at a sporting event they are cheerleaders.
In Tampa when I was there they had a group on the ice, a group in the stands giving out stuff. Te only difference between ours and theirs were they did dance routines in the section entrances during some of the comercial brakes.

Just seems weird to have cheerleaders in the stands, dancing around and stuff.
I'm all for women dancing around and giggling their stuff...
But it's hockey. Harvey the hound is enough at the Dome.

The Big Country crew is both on-ice and off-ice. The on-ice crew clears off the built-up snow. The off-ice crew runs into the stands and gives out prizes during the breaks. It doesn't look like the Bruins crew will be any different, some will be on-ice, some off.

Do you program the music selection at the Dome too?

I had to scroll back up, since I wasn't even aware she had legs until you mentioned this.

Wow, I wonder what they're giving up. Quite surprising that the Bruins have traded for the Sedins after what transpired in the 2011 Stanley Cup finals.

Gentlemen prefer brunettes. Well played sir.
I feel bad for the ladies in the front. Give em some knee pads!
