David Perron vient d'être échangé aux Oilers d'Edmonton. Doug Armstrong vient tout juste de lui apprendre la nouvelle.

David Perron has been traded to the Edmonton Oilers. Doug Armstrong has just tell her the news.

Small, soft one dimensional winger sounds like the missing piece for the Oilers.

when healthy, he's a very good player; fast and creative

Don't want to see him in Edmonton, unless the Oilers overpay

edit. he's not one-dimensional either. Hitch uses him on the second pk unit. Not the best pker on the team, but a reliable one, who uses his speed and hockey sense to break up plays or get in lanes etc

That's fine, just as long as they never address their goaltending and defense I don't care who they add.

Tough to comment on the trade until you know the return, but Perron is the last thing the Oilers need. Moon pretty much covered it already. Small, soft one-dimensional winger.

The more things change....

He's anything but soft. He actually is a bit of a pest. 44 pim in 48 games last year agrees with that sentiment. That's a great pickup for Edmonton. Just doesn't make that much sense with how many top 6 guys they have already. Obviously another forward will be going the other way I'd imagine.

3.812 million over the next three seasons, pretty fair value for what Perron brings. Played a full (half) season last year.. maybe he is over the injury bug.

Be interesting to see what comes back, or if this is making room for a multi year 4 AAV deal for Stewart..

Edit: PJ eh... so sign PJ to a cheap contract, re-sign Stewart to 4 and ink Piets for 6+ team is set.

steep price to pay but is the type of player the Oilers need. I still think Pajaarvi has upside. Swedes can take longer to develop

You have not watched Perron before, clearly.

That's actually not a bad deal for Edmonton value wise...Perron is overpaid a bit but Paajarvi is garbage and a 2nd.

Perron isn't what Edmonton needs but value wise it's a good deal.

not surprised the Blues moved him out; they had to make budget room for Pietrangelo

not happy about losing Perron; would rather they didn't sign Roy, and most certainly would have rather they moved that deadbeat Stewart

don't like Perron with the enemy; huge upgrade for the Oilers over PMS
