That thing is absolutely unreal. I can't believe that a pig like that ever existed... If it did exist.

I would bet it's real. Whether it actually weighed 1000 pounds is another question, but somewhat irrelevant in the discussion.

There is a large feral pig problem south of us in the rural areas of Sumner County, Kansas. The difference is that there is not nearly as much cover for them here as there would be in that very beautiful part of Georgia. That probably makes them easier for farmers to kill and less likely that they would grow to gargantuan proportions.

I've seen a big hog before and I thought it was going to open the door of my car, pull me out and stomp me to death it was so big. So I really have no trouble believing that story.

If it is false though, you can be sure it isn't THAT far off the mark of what is really out there tearing up peanut fields.

Given the steroids it took to accomplish that, the owner should turn him into a baseball player.

I'd like to know how they hung that thing. Pretty strong rope and support they got there in the middle of no where.

Just looking at the photo, I have a hard time believing that the thing is twelve feet long. Using the six-foot-tall guy in the photo, that hog isn't more than nine feet, and that's not even taking into account that it looks like the hog is closer to the camera, thus making it appear larger. Could be a real hog, but I really have a hard time believing the 1,000 lbs, 12 feet long story.

I think it is quite possible that this hog is real, I've seen a pig that weighed 350 lb and was like 6 feet long. But 12 feet and weighing a grand is a pretty big animal.
