RIP Paul. One of the nicest guys out there. The 2006 run was made extra special with how electric he made the arena. I'll never forget the games I attended during that run.

Condolences to his family and friends, of course.

As for me, I shall now feel sad. I envied the Oilers for having Lorieau. Terrific voice, and a great link back to the glory years.

Thank you for the link.

He was a good one RIP.

BTW: when are they going to replace their PA announcer? That guy always sounds like he's liquored up and is kind of embaressing IMO.

RIP Paul, his brother Maurice lived in Calgary and was the head of the music program at St Gerards parish when I was growing up ... his brother led the choirs , played the piano and sung himself , a musically talented family for sure .....

Lorieau was a great anthem singer. Powerful but he never over sang. He only retired from the Oilers games maybe two seasons ago. Sad indeed.

Now you've got the PA announcer in my head.

"THE OILERS GOAL....."

Shouldn't be too much in your head for how often the Oilers score.

Feel bad for the family death is always hard, but never liked his singing, thought he sounded like a drunk with marbles in his mouth.

The '06 cup run was awesome. Him getting letting the crowd take over gave me chills.

Too bad everyone tries to replicate it now with little to no effect.

Being an acquaintance of the family, they have had a rough go recently. Keep them in your thoughts.

RIP. He was up there with the old Chicago guy and the current Bruins fella (the new Chicago guys isn't bad either) who do it right.
