Please pick up Kris Russell Jay. There is potential there that has not been realized.

Why waive Russell if he doesn't have a contract for next year? Can't they just not qualify him and let him go to UFA? Wouldn't hate a pickup of either of them for next year. Maybe sign Schultz if he gets bought out

wonder if Feaster has any interest in local boy Jeff Schultz?
Has had a bit of a hot & cold career so far to say the least.

Kris Russell will have a long and lucrative career somewhere in Europe.

Well I know Schultz has shown interest in coming to Calgary, so he could probably have him for a reasonable price. He is still young but it seems he gets slower every season. Could be worth a gamble for 1 season since we aren't going to be contending anyways next year.

What happened to Schultz?
He was a 19 minutes/game d-man that is 6-6 230.
Last 2 seasons has been pushed to the back... Has one year left at 2.75.
Don't qualify Butler @ 1.4 and just pick Schultz up off of waivers If he is not somehow broken.
Offer Washington a trade our 3rd next year for Schultz and their 2nd?
or Butler for their 2nd next year and Schultz?
That saves Washington 1 of their 2 buyouts.
Maybe Schultz was a victim of the Semin/Ovechkin coaching circus that Washington had going 2 years ago?
