Default Emery Moving On From Chicago

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 2m

Ray Emery very likely moving on from Chicago, looking for bigger role, chance at 1 or 1a spot. I'd put Philly as front-runner.

Of course he's going to walk. He's a UFA stuck behind Crawford, and wants #1 goalie minutes and a bigger contract. No surprise here.

might not be bad for the flames either if they're serious about winning some games next year.

Philly could be the best spot for him share the net with mason, Going to the Coilers I don't see it happening he would still be the back up there.

Would rather Philly get him than Edmonton.

Wouldn't hate it if Feaster looked into him, though. As much as I know we want to explore what we have in Ramo/Berra, there is no denying how good Emery was last year.

(Still remembering that 50 shot effort at the Dome when he was in god mode)

I think him & Dubnyk would likely split the duties in Edmonton. 1A/B setup.

Pretty good numbers in Chicago this year for Emery:

17-1-0 with a 1.94 GAA and a .922 save percentge.

There has been some speculation to that effect too.

I would still rather skip Emery and see how Ramo/Berra do. Emery would be a good fit to a team like the Flyers that obviously want to win right now and need a 1A goalie. It also helps that the Flyers are insane and Emery is a headcase. They will be a really good fit.

The Flames don't really care if we win right now in our rebuild and we already have a logjam of goaltenders that are going to want play time.

Besides, I cannot imagine that Emery's personality would mix very well with a team in a rebuild. If people were so desperate protect our young players from Tanguay's personality because he mailed it in for a couple months, I would hate to see Emery's personality influencing the young players.

It's been a long time and he's been through a lot since I've seen any evidence of him having any attitude issues. I'm not saying he's an angel now, but many guys do mature and I think there's a good chance he has.
