Default Oilers name Keith Acton Associate Coach

Oilers fill vacant coaching position.

So associate coach is a thing forever? I find that term really weird.

Acton - "Thanks Mr Katz"

Katz - "Its really hot here in my living room Acton figure, why don't you take off your shirt"

Anyone remember when Acton was with the Northstars and he was skating behind a player from behind and he took the shaft of his stick and put it over the players head and smashed it backwards into his teeth.
He was a rat kind of a player.
I'm not 100% sure who the victim was. Guy Carbonneau maybe?
It is on one of the early Rockem Sockem's

The more things change, the more they stay the same in Dumpsville.

Old boys club continues.

So he collects ex-oilers the way Slughorn collected powerful wizards?

I don't get this Associate Coach thing. Why can't they just call him an Assistant Coach? From what I understand Associate Coach means, he is the other head coach. Both of Dallas Eakins and Keith Acton would have say on coaching not getting approval from Eakins first.

Somewhat related, there is chatter in Edmonton about the assistant coaches - smith and buchberger. Eakins has kept them on, and some talk already that while the "company line" is that he had full autonomy in the choice of his coaches, well, he really didn't.

Head Coach > Associate Coach > Assistant Coach

Eakins is still in charge, but Acton is getting differentiated as something above/different than the other assistants.

My guess is that the way it would work is the assistants each have their own specific role (goalie coach, defense, powerplay, etc), while Acton helps out with the bigger picture.
