I feel bad for Harding. With both MS and just never being able to become a starter in Minnesota. Hasn't Backstrom kind of sucked over the past few seasons?

His GAA was a bit high a few seasons ago but he seems to have it back under control. At age 35 it will be interesting to see the terms and conditions of the contract.

Harding has one more season left at 2.1 before becoming a UFA.. I doubt he sticks around now.

That's good for Minnesota. With Josh Harding not doing so well because of his MS in the playoffs, it's a very important signing (goaltending wise) for Minnesota.

Not too many options for a clear upgrade. Better off going with the known factor and showing a bit of loyalty to players at the same time.

I had no idea he was 35 though. I thought he was much younger. Still, not uncommon for goalies to perform well in their late 30s.
