Just talked to Jim Lites and he said tap the brakes on Lindy Ruff hiring. Said they like him a lot but nothing is done yet.

It should give the Stars a jolt for a while, then players will grow tired of Lindy's message.

You mean like how they grew tired of it in Buffalo? Gee, if he only lasts 15 seasons in Dallas, they'd better start looking for a replacement now.

The players had grown tired of it long ago in Buffalo. Ruff should've been removed long ago.
From today about GM Darcy Regier:

Great move for the Stars, IMO.
With the Ruff, Vigneault and Eakins hires, I find it oddly satisfying that Brent Sutter still does not have an NHL HC job.
Maybe it wasn't just the players after all.

Ruff and Vigneault were some of the best coaches in the league for a number seasons and Eakins is a "hot commodity". Brent will probably get another shot, but to think he should be ahead of Ruff and Vigneault is kind of silly.

Doubtful Brent is even looking for an NHL job at this time.
Has his hands full as Owner, GM, and coach with the Rebs.

ya he was never my first choice but he's a good coach and I think with talent he can play an offensive style like in Tampa, and at worst he has always had a good first few years with a new team before things turn sour
plus the Vancouver media completely deserves him
