Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 3:26 PM - Environment Canada has issued tornado watches for northern Alberta, including the City of Edmonton, Spruce Grove, Fort Saskatchewan and Drayton Valley.
A tornado warning has been issued for Leduc.
"Thunderstorms with tornadoes are possible this afternoon," Environment Canada warns in a statement issued Wednesday afternoon.
"Should severe weather approach or if you feel threatened, do not wait for warnings to take action ... take shelter immediately."
The watch comes as a large and slow moving dip in the jet stream, called an upper level trough moves across B.C. -- spelling unsettled weather across Alberta through the end of the week.

Pretty bad here, people in the west end are being told to take immediate cover.

There was a touchdown at Pidgeon Lake. I'm in millwoods right now and there's some heavy rain and hail but nothing too crazy. Maybe an early day at work today though!
Anything officially touch down? I know there was a funnel cloud, and a water spout in pigeon lake, but haven't heard of anything officially touching down on land.

They said one officially touched Down. I'm guessing they are referring to the water spout at pigeon lake. Funnel cloud near me, but didn't touch down (as far as I know).
