Default Jean Stapleton dies at age 90

Most people here are to young to appreciate her work.

All in the family was very funny in it's day, It was the top comedy on TV for 5 consecutive years and it probably wouldn't even be allowed on TV now days. Jean won 3 emmys for her part and appeared in countless films including You've Got Mail , The Muppets and Michael. John Travolta still called her mom

Not sad, afterall she was 90. Great talent gone.

Her best role was Edith Bunker on All in the Family

Would it not be considered tame by today's standards?

Show was ground braking back in the day.

No, don't think they could get away with a lot of it on primetime TV, network television these days:

Couldn't find this on YouTube:

What a fantastic show that was. The episode with Sammy Davis Jr. was nothing short of brilliant.

I didn't watch much TV at the time 'All in the Family' was on but it was a great show with a great cast as far as sitcoms go. I know my mother really liked the show and it changed the attitude of a lot of the older generation. Ground breaking, I guess you could say.

Jean Stapleton played a version of a housewife stuck in the past of twenty years ago but still open and honest in her life while putting up with her red neck husband. Lovely lady.
