Iginla vs. Lucic
I've just overheard the commentators on Sportsnet Hockeycentral panel agreeing that Pittsburgh - Boston series will be very much about Iginla vs. Lucic and that as good as Iginla has been so far, he has little chance to stand out well against Lucic. I found that very presumptuos and unsubstantiated. Iginla is at least as strong as Lucic, albeit not as aggressive anymore, but he is a much wiser player. What do you think?

Are you suggesting they'll be out there playing against each other a lot? I think Bylsma is going to want to avoid Iginla being in any way responsible for Lucic.

Brad May makes John Garett sound intelligent.
Next time Brad speaks, carefully listen and you'll see a man who is terrible at his job. He stumbles and trips over his words the entire time.
Typical garbage hiring by Rogers.

I doubt Boston is thinking that putting Lucic on Iggy is the key for the series. There are far better players on Pitt that they have to worry about.

What an oddly strange line to draw in the sand.

There are enough story lines in this series the talking heads don't need to be making up new ones.

Chara vs Crosby, Bergeron vs Malkin, etc is way more important.

Iginla needs to take his game to the next level. Needs to step up as when I watch him play he seems to let other guys take the leader role. Time to stop being nice and become grumpy Iggy.

I agree, I don't think that this is about Iginla and Lucic, but Iginla is going to need to step it up this series. The Pens need him to get mean.

I would love to see Lucic take a run at Iggy, then Iggy take his helmet off and beat the crap out of him.
Man that's going to be a great series.

I think people outside of Calgary are in for an eye opener. They have not seen the raging bull, and Iggy has not been that guy too often the last few years. But for a chance at a cup, pretty safe bet all his nastiness will come out.
Also, I expect Morrow will do everything necessary to win.

I think Iginla will outscore Lucic and the Pens will win the series. But if you're talking about strength and physical game I think Lucic has the edge. When Iginla was the same age as Lucic he was probably as strong as Lucic and with better skills despite giving up size to Lucic. Nowadays, Iginla simply can't compete with Lucic in the physical department.

Yah, I love Iggy, but I'll have to give the edge to the younger Lucic. I think he'd beat Iggy in a fight.

I agree. I think Iginla has been careful not to step on the toes of the current Pens leadership. He's playing well, but its time for him to step out of the shadows and lead more. The Pens are gonna need what Iggy can bring for this series.

I get happy and laugh to myself in my desk chair when I think about this series and what we could see from Iginla. Can't wait till Saturday night.

I think this series benefits Iginla's style of play. He needs to play against a more physical team. I hope Boston plays him real physical and wakes the beast. This is exactly the type of series that the Pens got Iggy for.
