All AHL teams deal with this. You can't assume that the veteran AHL players are going to stick around forever when the NHL is no longer an option and they can make more money in Europe. Heat will have to search for some veteran help and rely possibly more on players drafted by the Flames organization. I don't see this really as a bad thing as career AHLers were getting too much of the prime ice time IMO anyway. Time for Ward to start developing these guys not burying them behind players that aren't ever going to play for the Flames.

I agree completely. This is great to make room for developing drafted players, try and make something out of them.

Sorry about the extra thread too, I never go into the other one, or even remember its there.

Wish him the best, but this is good news, makes room for more of the Flames' fresh blood.

Howse, Ferland, Granlund, Hanowski, Kulak, Ramage, Wotherspoon, Brossoit, etc., the Heat are going to look dramatically different next year.

That comment is by former flame Pierre-Luc Leblond. Just players having fun.
