Default Know of any reliable Landscapers/Landscaping Companies?

Our front lawn is in sad shape, and we are looking for a reliable, trustworthy Landscaper to help tear up our current sod and re-plant new sod.

Any help would be appreciated!

Honestly, no. And from past threads on here I don't think CPers really know anybody in the residential landscaping business.

You may just have to piece this together yourself. I'd call Brian's Bobcat and get them to rip out your old sod and 4" - 6" of dirt. Then I'd get Burnco to deliver loam. Then I'd rake it and roll it out myself (rent a drum roller and landscape rake). Call Blue Grass and have them deliver sod then lay it yourself.

That's all I have for you.

Our back lawn is healthy but very bumpy and uneven (I'm told the previous owners had a dog and they simply put the sod on top without leveling the dirt underneath ). Looks good but not that good to play on (especially for toddlers).

I was thinking of renting a sod cutter to pull up the existing lawn, levelling with loam and/or soil, and then putting the sod back. However, I'm not sure that will actually work so I may just bite the bullet and re-sod entirely.

I removed sod to build my garage, and had the bobcat take off the sod. If I ever had to do that again I would rent a sod cutter and take off the sod, and then have the bobcat take off the top layer of dirt.

Leaving that much dirt attached to the sod make it that much harder to work with, and increased the dump fees considerably. Dirt with sod attached is considered "organic" and charged at the full ~$100 per tonne. Plain dirt is "clean fill" and depending on the person running the scale was either the dump minimum of $15 or free.

Unless of course you can get Brian to quote you on doing the work as well as hauling the waste away.
