Default Calaway Park...

... is running their annual promo -- $37.95 plus tax for an annual pass until May 21 at co-op stores. We were thinking of picking up passes this year, but haven't visited in probably 20 years.

For anyone who has visited recently -- is there enough to do for a kid turning three this summer? Looking at their list of rides, it seems like they have a decent selection for her height (either with an adult or on their own). What about the shows -- anything good for little kids?

My son was turning 3 last year when we went.

There was more than enough for us to do for a day there, we saw one show after lunch that was fine I suppose, but nothing spectacular.

I have no idea because I haven't had little people for years. However, best week to go? When Stampede is on.

Thanks -- how were the rides (i.e. were they age appropriate for your son)?

My kids loved it, they are 7/9 now. There are lots of rides for 3 yr olds.

It is a good deal, one you won't regret, especially if you bring food to eat instead of buying the garbage they sell.

We had passes last year. Considering how far out it is for us, and the two times we'll probably want to go, we'll just pay the regular admission price (likely with coupons) this year.

Inexplicable Soviet-era architecture?

Calaway park always reminds me of that amusement park in Chernobyl.

I was taking our 2y old last year. There weren't a lot of rides for her, but she did enjoy the ones she could go on. (She was mostly on them with her mom)

We live 15min away so we went nearly every weekend for a couple hours.

We started the summer our son was 2 - it obviously can't compare to Disneyland & all the other large theme parks, but for the $38 much better value than the stampede, plus if you have the time to go a few times+ during the season - it easily is worth the money for children.

Adults might get bored with what is there, but children will have a good time. For the younger children 3-4 you will just be going on the rides with them.

Only ride that really has the extremely long lines on hot days is that log ride - Chute the chutes.

Our son is five now - 6 in the winter & would be 'distraught' if we didn't go to Calaway at least a few times per year.

But again from an adult perspective it isn't going to blow you away or anything; other than seeing the fun your child(ren) will have.

Honestly you cant beat the season pass price, especially since you only have to visit the park twice during the entire summer to gain value for your money. My family of four enjoying going to the park early on Sundays and to avoid the long lines, ride the log ride first which keeps you cool throughout the day or if it isn't that warm, we bring extra clothing for the boys (i usually wear a garbage from home) Then to save a little coin and to make it even more of a special outing, it's always fun to pack a picnic in our little wagon and either eat under the main umbrella or in the field by the kids boat ride. The most time we've gone during the summer is five and that was probably two times too many but overall its a fun and safe outing for the family that i highly recommend.

Our 4 year old (so 3 last summer) had a great time, and I thought lots to do for her. So we got season passes this year...should be good just to go kill some time and she can have some fun a few times this year.

It isn't great for older kids or adults like a Disney or six flags, but I thought it was great for the young kids, and very affordable.
