800 bucks when you're 17 and just handing out ticket's isn't that bad.
Is there some sort of short-shorts checker at stampede?
Now that you're 18, apply for that.

I can't work a full summer job so the stampede is the only good opportunity for me to make some decent cash.

I remember back in the day, the gig working in the big four building, or possibly roundup, where they did the super dogs show was awesome. Air conditioned and all you needed to do was help people find seats. But I only heard about it, I never worked Stampede.

Doorman at Cowboys? Don't they clear $20,000 in those 10 days?

That would be nuts. I doubt I'd be accepted as all bars/clubs tend to hire older doormen and I have no experience.

Beer vendor at the Rodeo/chucks. Try to get assigned to the infield and you'll clean up in tips - you also get to leave earlier as those seats aren't open for the grandstand show.

Best job for most return later, probably would be bus boy for any of the bars / tents. You probably wont get server right away, but getting your foot in the door at 18 could lead to better opportunities when you are 22+. You probably will still do pretty good in tips as a bus boy. Mind you, can you handle being at the bottom for 10 days?

Thanks, definitely going to look into this. Last stampede one of my buddies said his friend made $200 bucks in tips one day. I doubt it was that much but I guess you could make some decent tips on each thing of beer sold.

If you want to work as a beer vendor for the rodeo/chucks let me know I can worked there last year helping manage and can forward your resume to the right guy. 200 a day in tips is a bad day. The good bartenders made much more than that last year. Now last year was an exception, being the centennial and all.

I worked there back when I was 16/17 so I couldn't sell beer, but I made $70-100 per day hawking water (depending on the weather). I think $200 would be reachable for a beer vendor.

Selling beer in the stands of the rodeo infield. Pretty sure that's gotta be among the most profitable. Or manning the private boxes in the rodeo infield.

Man, you couldn't pay me to attend Stampede, never mind work there.
But I hope you find something good, if you want to work there. Good luck!

The best Stampede job?
Operating this bad boy:
A close second is taking tickets for the above ride. I've practiced my whole life rolling cigarette packs in my shirt sleeve and have the hand wave down pat.
