Thank you Jimi.
Okay that's enough chit-chat. On to business.
I've been getting a trickle of e-mails saying "umm, you haven't plugged in that contract yet" and to the people that sent the contracts in around July 1st but I missed them, I apologize. For the people that didn't send them in in July and did say "we agreed to a contract two months ago where oh where is it"? I don't apologize because you weren't following the rules of JTIR.
Now, with that ugliness out of the way I would like to calmly and rationally talk about the contracts that have not been sent in. I, currently, don't think there are any that haven't been sent in. I am, however, fairly certain that I am wrong.
Do yourself and the league a favor and scour your rosters, notebooks, brains, computers and whatever else and please send in any that haven't been plugged in. If you think I have missed one and you haven't checked your roster lately, check first because I just sent a bunch in.
As for you, transplant99, check the Yuskevich contract and make sure I didn't make a mistake. 8 million X 3 is what I sent but that was just from memory. Great deal for Dmitri!
Other random musings...
Someone recently wrote me an e-mail, I forget who, and mentioned something along the lines of "my offer was ignored and some other GM got the guy for less than I was offering". Pure hogwash I'm sure, but a possibility. One explanation might be that I agreed to an offer with another GM before I got your offer but the contract wasn't in yet. Another explanation may be that I ignored your offer because I don't like the tone of your sass. But that one isn't true. Another possibility is that I went away for the weekend and I had a stack of e-mails 48 deep and something got lost in the shuffle. Really, I could go on all night as to what happened with that one, but know this: it wasn't intentional. I would never give one GM a good deal and another one a raw deal.
As far as I'm concerned you are a lot of mangy wild dogs, slathering over the vulnerable "babes in woods" that are my players. In all honesty, everytime I sign a player I hear Meryl Streep's voice saying "a dingo took my baby". So you see, suggesting or thinking that I might be playing nice-nice with one GM and rough with another is akin to Meryl Streep snatching her precious child from the jaws of one vicious dingo and then turning around, slathering it in bar-be-cue sauce and offering it to another equally ravenous beast. It's preposterous.
That being said, I'd like to publicly proclaim that this "rotscha" fellow is really on the ball and I foresee fantastic dealings with a fellow like him. If I was in his division, I'd try to get in another.
And lastly, I'll be going away for the weekend. Possibly until Monday. Or possibly not at all. It's up in the air, quite literally, because the air is where the rain comes from. I'll let you all know sometime on Friday whether I'm gone or not.
That is all.
