Good money for a guy who was picked last overall in the year he was drafted (230th in 2005).

seems a bit high when you compare it to a contract like Glencross's.

That's pretty high for a player like him. Good thing the salary cap is going up. Oh waaaait.

Sometimes I wonder if SureLoss is a player agent and thats how hes in the know.

That said, this is a lot for Hornquist.

WAY too much money for Hornquist. Bad signing.

Looking at his stats makes me happy for Glenncross and his salary.

Every contract is high when you compare it to Glencross.

That seems quite high to me, but I don't know much of him other than to look at his stats and to see how he performed. If they used this season's production as one argument to knock the AAV down a bit, I'd hate to see what he was asking for.

deals like these continue to show what a great signing that Glencross contract was.

This is a good signing for the Preds. They need players, especailly after getting rid of Erat's contract and Hornquist is a guy that can slot into any lineup.

Glencross certainly took a home town discount. No doubt about it.

About a Million too high, not the greatest signing but not horrible.

He must of had them over the barrel or something. Way too much money but then maybe its a PR move to show that ownership is willing to shell out to keep its players after all the guys they let walk previously.

Have people not figured out how the Predators do business yet? They pay the players that fit into their system very well and not the other way around. Do they overpay players a lot of the time? Yes. When you're strictly following an internal cap it doesn't really matter so long as you know where these guys fit in.

Looking at the last 10 years it seems to be working for them.
