Airdrie Shinny
Hey all,
I've just secured 15 ice times at Ron Ebbesen arena in Airdrie, on Friday nights starting May 10, running through the end of August.
I'm looking for men and women over 18, looking to come out and have some fun. All skill levels are welcome, however want to keep it fun for everyone, so if you're a high skilled player, this may not peak your interest, although it is always appreciated when guys come out and help others learn the game.
If I can garner enough interest, additional nights/times can be added, and the possibility or running a skilled and beginner level at separate times is available.
I'd like to have 30 skaters, and 2 goalies for each ice time, so spots are limited, to ensure everyone gets some decent ice time.
If you're interested shoot me a text: 403-700-4135

yup especially when the ice is 200/hr .. at least what their website says. Maybe just 20 skaters?

I was thinking 30, for 3 full lines on each bench for 60 minutes of hockey.
And $15 as that is what I was always paying for shinny in Calgary. And that was for late ice times at constantly changing locations. The city of Airdrie charges $8 for an hour during lunch, so for private, prime ice time, I don't see $15 as unreasonable.
What I can offer is for every 4 paid ice times, you get your next ice time free, so if you plan to play every time, you pay for 12, get 3 free.
This will cover costs when rosters are not full, and reward those who are dedicated.
$180 for 15 ice times over 4 months is pretty fair in my eyes.

Well lets be honest, the guy should be able to make a little money. It's hard work to keep everything going smoothly. Now if something happens and some goalies don't show I would definitely be asking for a refund.

You're right, I am making a profit, and in doing so, I am offering prime ice time, at a consistent location.
If you are not interested, that's cool. Don't pay, don't play, that's your right as a person.
I'm just looking to enjoy some hockey, with others who enjoy it, while saving for a wedding.
I feel what I am offering, including free ice times for devoted players is more than most can, or will offer (certainly more than Iceman offers).
So if it's not up to par for you, don't sweat yourself, and move on, there's no need to complain.

I have goalies on waiting lists at this point, so that should not be an issue, and if for any reason there was a time that we were short a goalie, ice would be free.
I wouldn't make people pay for a service that is not provided, simple as that.
