He's chasing the cup, done with the Flames. I was sad at first, but I haven't missed him at all

Personally I have no desire whatsoever to see him return. They are better off just finishing the job by moving Tanguay etc. Fresh start and let the young guys create a new culture here.

Good. We can put those thoughts to bed. Honestly the last few years I questioned how he was in the room and with coaches.
Team hasn't missed him. Good luck in Pittsburgh.

No surprise, I said all along that we won't see Iginla in Flames silks again until long after he retires.
I would expect that in July the Pens will sign him to a seriously discounted contract if they don't win the cup.

I haven't really missed him either. It helps that we've been a much better team without him and Bouw than with.

Good. I love Iggy but this team is finally finding it's new identity and is being driven by this new young core that looks like they have the compete level that has been lacking from this team for so long.
I guess I'm just over the whole Iggy leaving thing because I wish him the best (next year, screw the pens this year) but I honestly do NOT want him anywhere near this team again.

Happy for Iggy, Im not cheering for the Pens to win the cup unless its against the Canucks. I am more excited to see in the next couple years how our new players perform, and hope to see the BOA emerge again like the 80's. This league needs more BOA playoff appearances.

He gets to play with a great centre for the first time in his career, and not only that, its the two best centres in the world. Why the hell would he leave?

Iggy made his choice. He would be welcomed back in Calgary but for now he made his choice, pursuit a SC elsewhere. Nothing is a guarantee in sports either, the STC might allude him in PIT this year too.
He might end up on another team for the 2013-14 season also.
Just so long as it isn't EDM or VAN. That would be sickening and he would tarnish his legacy during that time with most Flames fans.

Was sad to see him go. Happy with how the young turks have stepped up. Would be happy to see him win the cup, happier to see the Pens out in the first round.
My only regret is that Tanguay didn't go with him.

The way that the team and the young guys have played thus far really shows that Jarome Iginla was a hindrance to this franchise for the past few years. I've really started to believe the negative comments made by past teammates and stories. So much so that it's no wonder that Phaneuf and Regehr clashed with him. In my mind, Kipper's legacy as a Flames player is better than Iginla's as of right now.
It's more than just a coincidence that the Flames get rid of Iginla and there seems to be a whole lot of fresh air in the room, and a work ethic on the team that hasn't been seen since 2007.

The culture of the team wasn't going to change as long as Iggy was on the team. Finally, we can turn that page.
Sweet house. I guess I was stalking the wrong place all along.

My words were exactly "Holy #### Jarome" when I saw that. That is one fine house.
And honestly. I thought this would be sad, but not really. Can you blame him? He might still return for his final season, we don't know. I'm sure he'll stick to signing one year deals with cup contenders until he wins it, then maybe he comes back here for a final season. Maybe by then we're cup contenders and he raises his final cup with Calgary. The way it's always supposed to have been.

I think the "fresh air" is from giving a bunch of prospects their first nhl game experience. We'll see how they handle 82 games.

Nice place.
Good to see Jarome turn the page and move the entire homestead out of Calgary. It'll be good for him and for the Calgary fan base.
And if he decides to come back, it's not like he can't afford a new place in Calgary. There are nice places in Bearspaw.
